The Federated Philatelic Clubs of Southern California is APS
Chapter 246 -- a 50-year member of the American Philatelic Society. It is made up of local stamp clubs
and local chapters of national societies.
The Federated Philatelic Clubs of Southern California is an IRS 501(c)(4) not-for-profit organization.
The Federation sponsors the annual SESCAL stamp exhibition, now in its 74th year. One of the features of the show's annual awards banquet is the presentation of the Federation's Distinguished Service Award. The Federation's Exemplary Service Award, although rarely awarded, is also presented at SESCAL.
The area encompassed by the Federation is almost 12,000 square miles and extends from San Luis Obispo at the north 260 miles to San Diego at the south and 90 miles to the Riverside area at the east. At the present time the Federation has 21 members, all philatelic organizations.
Officers of the Federation are members of those clubs/chapters. If your stamp club is located in the southern California area, is not on this list and you feel it should consider becoming an FPCSC member, contact the Federation President for information. The dues are $10.00 per year. That helps cover the cost of this website and the The Philatelic Review. In order to better communicate with our member clubs, back issues of The Philatelic Review are available on the website. Member clubs supply information about their successful activities to be published in The Philatelic Review. The Philatelic Review is normally published in digital format twice a year as new information from the clubs becomes available.
Visit our Sister Organization, the Council of Northern California Philatelic Societies.
NOTE: The office of President-Elect no longer exists. It had been vacant for over a decade. A motion was made and passed unanimously at the 2010 meeting to eliminate this office.
The only email addresses for the President, Secretary or Treasurer of the Federated Philatelic Clubs of Southern California are above. All other addresses are scams from an imposter who claims illegally that he holds an office in the FPCSC and he does not. Right now he is using the address firstname.lastname@example.org, but he could change it to something else or another provider. Don't be fooled into sending him a dues payment or any private information. For instance: he is asking for the date and amount of your last dues payment. The Federation has that information and does not need to ask.
There seems to be no way to stop this imposer. On October 5th, he has sent out a new email to member clubs using the name "email@example.com" and again falsely represented himself as Secretary of the Federated Philatelic Clubs of Southern California. He used his real name, "Wes Robbins." But don't be fooled, Wes Robbins is an imposter and does not hold any office in the Federated Philatelic Clubs of Southern California.
Under the new BYLAWS, passed unanioumously at the the Federation meeting on 14 October 2018, the clubs voted to cancel any affiliation with and to remove the "The Stamp Album Society" for cause i.e. deceitful representation by the President, Wes Robbins, as Secretary of the Federation. Wes Robbins is the President and Founder (and maybe only member) of "The Stamp Album Society" but he is NOT, repeat IS NOT, SECRETARY of the Federated Philatelic Clubs of Southern California and never has been.
If you feel you have been a victim of this scam, please contact the President of the Federation, John Weigle, or any of the other officers listed above.
The table below provides basic information about each club, including where and when the member clubs meet and a phone or mail contact for further information. Those clubs that are APS Chapters have their Chapter number included in italics following their name. If a club has an e-mail contact or a web site, links are provided in the rightmost column. If the local chapter of a national society is a Federation member, and the parent society has a web site, then a link to the society's web site is provided (leftmost column.)
